Money for babies! Thanks Hillary!

So you all HAVE to read this article. So Hillary Clinton thinks that every baby should have a $5,000 savings bond for college or a new home. Hmm, on the surface that sounds quite appealing, especially because babies are so cute, which Hillary Clinton is not. Who wouldn't want a baby to have 5 g's? Really on the surface that is a concept that appeals to our better nature of helping out those who are in need, and that is a good thing. BUT, let's get down to the nitty gritty of it all.

According to the article, approximately 4 million babies are born in the USA every year. So let's do some simple arithmetic. 4 million x 5,000=a whole lot...how much? 20,000,000,000! 20 billion!!! Holy smokes, isn't that the GDP of Guam or something? Maybe it was the GDP of Micronesia...I can't remember. Anyway, where is all that money going to come from? I'll give you 301,139,947 guesses and if any of those guesses included any US citizens, then you are correct! This is another ploy to tax the snot out of the american taxpayer. How could it possibly work? I HATE taxes, but I pay them not because its my patriotic duty to, I pay taxes because I am a law-abiding citizen. If there is a lawful way to avoid paying taxes, then I will take it.

The other problem with this proposed idea is that it will create another level of entitlement in the US. People need to get it through their skulls that they are NOT entitled to anything just by being a US citizen! That is a ridiculous notion. Just because you are a baby you don't deserve 5 grand. Sure it would be nice, but isn't that the responsibility of the parents and not the government? I would say it is.

To the one they call the Gentile Lover! I will agree on several points that you've discussed hence in your venting.
1. Hillary is Anti-Cute!
2. Excess taxes are so Democratic
3. Matt is cute!
4. Matt would still like $5,000
5. I love fantasy football!

I agree, Hilary definetly lacks the good looks of a baby. I'm sorry Matt Jr. will not have $5,000.
